Baseball Game Preview: Pace Patriots vs. Tocoi Creek Toros

The Pace Patriots will square off against the Tocoi Creek Toros at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pace is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.

Pace is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Oviedo a 7-0 shutout. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matches by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Tocoi Creek narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past East River 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Toros.

Not much got past Brayden Harris, who gave up just two hits to keep East River off the board. Harris has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tocoi Creek secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Blake Warner, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple.

Pace's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Tocoi Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 19-8.
