League recap: Christian Brothers extends winning streak with victory over Chaminade

Christian Brothers extended the longest winning streak in Metro Catholic this week by beating Chaminade, 47-19. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.

DeSmet Jesuit and St. Louis University played the most contested game in the league this week, with DeSmet Jesuit eventually emerging with a 16-14 victory. Scott Sinovich threw for 130 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 21 yards in the win.

The Spartans' dynamic duo of Sinovich and Thayer Weaver proved tough for the Junior Bills to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. William Haas helped DeSmet Jesuit's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 61 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Christian Brothers takes on DeSmet Jesuit. As it stands, Scott Pingel's team is in first, while Pat Mahoney's team is in third.

There should be lots of points scored when the Cadets and the Spartans face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Christian Brothers comes in having scored 213 this season, while DeSmet Jesuit has scored 185. The Cadets scored 47 points last week as they beat the Red Devils.

Christian Brothers took down Chaminade 47-19 last week, the largest margin of any game. Koner Lamb ran for 135 yards during the win.
