Soccer Game Preview: Hickory vs. Maiden

The Hickory Tornadoes are taking a road trip to challenge the Maiden Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hickory knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Maiden likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Hickory got the win against Foard by a conclusive 5-1. The result was nothing new for Hickory, who have now won 11 matches by four goals or more so far this season.

They hit Foard with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Emily Bridges (2), Piper Jillings (2), and Dayana Almanza Medina.

Meanwhile, Maiden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 7-0 to West Iredell.

Hickory's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Maiden, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Hickory got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against Maiden by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tornadoes since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
