Grand Island is 8-2 against Lincoln High since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Islanders will welcome the Links at 12:00 p.m. The timing isn't great for Grand Island: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Lincoln High has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

Grand Island gave up the first goal on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Columbus. The victory was some much needed relief for Grand Island as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kevin Sanchez and Eddy Ramirez-Gamero scored all three of Grand Island's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Meanwhile, Lincoln High had just enough and edged out Lincoln North Star 2-1 on Wednesday.

The win got Grand Island back to even at 6-6. As for Lincoln High, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Grand Island beat Lincoln High by a goal in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 2-1. Will the Islanders repeat their success, or do the Links have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
