Softball Recap: Hayes Takes Down Westland in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hayes had no problem doing just that on Monday. Everything went their way against the Westland Cougars as they made off with a 22-0 win. The Pacers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Hayes got a massive performance out of Lizzy Gould, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Grace Singleton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Hayes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .565. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in eight consecutive matches.

Hayes' record now sits at 24-2. As for Westland, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-22.

Looking ahead, Hayes will be playing at home against Olentangy Berlin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
