Softball Preview: Terrell Academy Eagles vs. Valwood Valiants
The Terrell Academy Eagles will head out to square off against the Valwood Valiants at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Terrell Academy's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 9-0 margin over Brookwood. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Sydney Lord was excellent, going 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and a run. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadley Webb, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Valwood earned a 12-9 win over Brookwood on Monday.
Hali Thomas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. What's more, she also racked up four strikeouts, the mostshe's had since back in October of 2023. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI.
In other batting news, Annasten Creech was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits. Abi Brooks was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.
Terrell Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Valwood, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
