Beckham Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk in 15 consecutive appearances. In other batting news, Viewmont let Aiden Groves and Kade Marriott run wild. Groves went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Marriott went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Groves has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Boston Williams, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Viewmont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matches.
Viewmont's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-9. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bonneville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-18.
