Basketball Recap: Castle View Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Castle View needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Evan Mckean. The Castle View Sabercats narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Highlands Ranch Falcons 59-56 thanks in part to Mckean, who went 7 for 17 en route to 22 points and seven rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Castle View's points.

Highlands Ranch's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Bakken, who posted 12 points along with seven assists and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Lane, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

Castle View's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8. As for Highlands Ranch, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-6.

Castle View will welcome Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Castle View likes a good challenge. As for Highlands Ranch, they will head out to take on Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaparral is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.7 points per game this season.
