Baseball Recap: Natalia Comes Up Short

Natalia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 14-2 to the Crystal City Javelinas. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Javelinas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-3 back in March.

Natalia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leo Buentello, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Jordan Castro also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Natalia's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Crystal City, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-8.

Coming up, Natalia will welcome Cotulla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cowboys have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.85 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Crystal City, they are taking a road trip to square off against Hondo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
