Basketball Recap: Hydro-Eakly Piles Up the Points Against Union City

It was a proper cat-fight when Hydro-Eakly challenged Union City on Tuesday. The Hydro-Eakly Bobcats claimed a resounding 61-27 victory over the Union City Tigers. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Hydro-Eakly's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Union City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hydro-Eakly will be home for the holidays to greet Southwest Covenant at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwest Covenant will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Hydro-Eakly surely won't give up without a fight. As for Union City, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Thomas-Fay-Custer at 8:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
