Basketball Recap: Lina Hashimi's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Potomac over Robinson

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact West Potomac can now relate to. They took a 45-31 bruising from the Robinson Rams on Friday. The contest marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

West Potomac's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lina Hashimi, who posted nine points and three steals. Those three steals gave Hashimi a new career-high. Dawn Houston was another key player, putting up 11 points.

West Potomac moved to 24-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Robinson, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. West Potomac will take on Langley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Langley will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something West Potomac surely won't give up without a fight. As for Robinson, they will challenge Oakton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
