Basketball Recap: Clearbrook-Gonvick Comes Up Short

After flying high against Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal on Thursday, Clearbrook-Gonvick came back down to earth. The Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears were dealt an 80-49 loss at the hands of the Red Lake County Central Mustangs on Friday. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Clearbrook-Gonvick's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Red Lake County Central, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-7.

Clearbrook-Gonvick and Red Lake County Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. Clearbrook-Gonvick (ranked 336th) will meet Warren-Alvarado-Oslo (ranked 67th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Red Lake County Central will square off against Sacred Heart at 5:30 p.m. on Monday down 129 places (227 vs. 98).
