Jayden Ortiz Delivers Electric Effort Vs Griffith

Wheeler picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Jayden Ortiz. Ortiz was dynamite, rushing for 220 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. His longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards.

Ortiz must have Griffith's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Ortiz saw the Panthers), he rushed for 248 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry.

While Ladarrion Newell delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Gary West Side. Despite the defeat, Newell was still balling out as he made seven total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Gary West Side has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. Newell and Gary West Side will head out on the road to square off against New Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Moore Came Up Big in Gary West Side's 38-36 Loss

Keeping Newell company is Guiseppe Moore, a fellow Gary West Side player. He rushed for 191 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 54 yards.

Unfortunately for Calumet New Tech, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Moore. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Moore saw the Warriors), he rushed for 223 yards and two touchdowns.

Wheeler Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to Bryce Compton

Bryce Compton's big game helped extend Wheeler's winning streak to seven on Friday. Compton was dynamite, picking up 75 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 63 yards.

Compton is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Boone Grove on Friday. Back in September (the last time Compton saw the Wolves), he picked up 213 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Eric Allen Dazzles in Calumet New Tech Victory

Rounding off our Top Five is Eric Allen of Calumet New Tech. Allen picked up 65 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.

Calumet New Tech now has a winning record of 5-4. They and Mishawaka Marian are set to duel on Friday.
