Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Luke Miller and Luke Barrett

Faith Christian lost against Lafayette Central Catholic back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The game between the Faith Christian Eagles and the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights didn't end well, with the Faith Christian Eagles falling 67-50. The Eagles were up 21-6 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the loss, Faith Christian had strong showings from Luke Barrett, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 16 points, and Luke Miller, who went 7 for 13 en route to 16 points and eight boards. Barrett continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Callan, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Mikey Stapleton had an outrageously good game for Lafayette Central Catholic as he went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points along with six assists and five boards. The dominant performance gave Stapleton a new career-high in assists. Ray Clayton was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

Faith Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6.

Faith Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-45 loss against Carroll on the 25th. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 75-53 defeat against Peru on the 24th.
