Softball Recap: Ludlowe Has No Trouble Against Rogers

Ludlowe got themselves on the board against Rogers on Saturday, but Rogers never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 22-0 margin over the Vikings. With that win, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Finley Dean made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Those RBI were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Gina Solow was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Gia Patrone also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Ludlowe kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rogers only managed two hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Ludlowe and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Rogers, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Ludlowe will face off against Portsmouth at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season. As for Rogers, they will venture away from home to take on Hope at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings are facing the Blue Wave at the right time seeing as the Blue Wave are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
