Recap: Roosevelt Bears vs. Anderson Titans
After flying high against the Taylor Griffins last Friday, The Roosevelt Bears came back down to earth. Roosevelt was dealt a 56-7 loss at the hands of Anderson on Friday. Roosevelt lost against Anderson in their previous head to head back in September of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 42-14 score last time.
Nate Johns threw for 85 yards on nine of 16 attempts. Chase Cline was his top target, picking up 69 receiving yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Anderson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Barbosa, who rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Jackson Steel sage was another key contributor, throwing for 121 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Roosevelt's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.3 points per game. As for Anderson, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Roosevelt does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Anderson will be playing in front of their home fans against River Rouge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. River Rouge is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
