Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kahron Clarke and Gavin Kay Lead Hampton to Victory

Hampton hadn't done well against Kecoughtan recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Hampton Crabbers came out on top against the Kecoughtan Warriors by a score of 51-38. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Crabbers also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Hampton was led to victory by Gavin Kay and Kahron Clarke. Kay dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards, while Clarke posted ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance gave Clarke a new career-high in boards. Marcus Chapman was another key player, putting up six points.

The victory got Hampton back to even at 2-2. As for Kecoughtan, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampton will take on Denbigh at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hampton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.8 points per game this season. As for Kecoughtan, they will face off against Menchville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kecoughtan is facing Menchville at the right time seeing as Menchville is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
