Baseball Recap: Keystone Heights Comes Up Short

Keystone Heights blew Baker County out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Baker County got their revenge. The Indians fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-0. The Indians just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Ethan Franklin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Keystone Heights saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryder Trull, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Trull has hit this season.

Keystone Heights' record now sits at 2-10. As for Baker County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Keystone Heights will square off against Eagle's View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Baker County, they will take on Ridgeview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
