Baseball Recap: Archbishop Hannan Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

There's no place like home for Archbishop Hannan, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Loranger Wolves on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Hawks: when they faced off against the Wolves last Tuesday, they had to take a 8-3 defeat.

Jay Lachney was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Archbishop Hannan is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. Loranger dropped their record down to 9-13 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archbishop Hannan will venture away from home to face off against Newman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
