Soccer Game Preview: Valor Academy vs. Sun Valley Magnet

Valor Academy is 1-8-1 against Sun Valley Magnet since December of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Valor Academy will venture away from home to square off against Sun Valley Magnet at 3:30 p.m. Valor Academy will be strutting in after a win while Sun Valley Magnet will be coming in after a defeat.

Valor Academy proved they can win big on Monday (they won by four) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Magnolia Science Academy Van Nuys 2-1.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Sun Valley Magnet and Magnolia Science Academy Van Nuys, and Magnolia Science Academy Van Nuys kept the tradition alive. The Pioneers lost 4-1 to the Mustang on Monday.

Sun Valley Magnet's goal came courtesy of Anderson Villalta, who's now up to five this season.

Sun Valley Magnet's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1-2 and their overall record down to 7-5-2. As for Valor Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7-3.

Valor Academy might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Sun Valley Magnet in their previous matchup on January 12th. Can Valor Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
