Baseball Game Preview: Jefferson Raiders vs. Enumclaw Hornets

For the second straight game, Jefferson will face off against Enumclaw. The Raiders will head out to take on the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Enumclaw hit Jefferson with a six-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Raiders fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 7-6. Raiders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Hornets since Monday.

For Enumclaw's part, Colby Soimis was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave Soimis a new career-high. Quinton Kuzaro was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.

Enumclaw has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Jefferson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Enumclaw struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
