The Roger Bacon Spartans lost against the Cincinnati Country Day Nighthawks back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Roger Bacon took a 43-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cincinnati Country Day. Roger Bacon has not had much luck with Cincinnati Country Day recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Roger Bacon lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gussie Hoffman, who scored seven points. Another player making a difference was Riley Rolfert, who scored seven points.
Cincinnati Country Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elizabeth Zimmerman led the charge by scoring 17 points along with five steals. Zimmerman has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. Megan Zimmerman was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Roger Bacon's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Cincinnati Country Day, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Roger Bacon will look to defend their home court on Monday against Reading at 7:30 p.m. Cincinnati Country Day will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Norwood at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. Norwood will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
