Basketball Recap: Avon Park Takes a Loss

Avon Park played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Somerset College Prep Academy Spartans 65-19. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-10.

Despite the loss, Avon Park still got an impressive performance from Jaymara Jackson, who posted 12 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Jackson is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Hannah Hodges also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Khloe Rodgers was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 40 points and 12 steals for Somerset College Prep Academy. That makes it five consecutive games in which Rodgers has scored at least a third of Somerset College Prep Academy's points. London Rolle was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Avon Park's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Somerset College Prep Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
