Baseball Recap: Van Wert Comes Up Short

If Van Wert was riding high fresh off their 17-5 takedown of Kenton on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars lost 9-1 to the Elida Bulldogs on Tuesday. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Van Wert's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Elida, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Van Wert will square off against rival Bath at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 4, the Wildcats 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Elida is set to face off against their familiar foe Shawnee at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
