Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Langham Creek). Everything went their way against the Cypress Lakes Spartans on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Lobos in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

Langham Creek got a great performance from Adam McNew as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). McNew also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Lobos are 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-15 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Kaleb Mendez and Jayce Coto did most of the damage at the plate: Mendez went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Coto went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Coto a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacob Fliehler, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Langham Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.6.

Langham Creek's win bumped their record up to 11-16. As for Cypress Lakes, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.

Langham Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against Cypress Lakes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
