Baseball Recap: Garden City Comes Up Short

Garden City came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Liberal Redskins, falling 20-8. The Buffaloes haven't had much luck with the Redskins recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Jakobe Rathbun was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Trevin Tabor also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Garden City's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Liberal, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Garden City beat the Redskins by a score of 7-3 later that day.
