Basketball Recap: Buckeye Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Buckeye can now relate to. They fell just short of the Westlake Demons by a score of 64-62 on Saturday. The Bucks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Demons earlier this season, when they won 79-66.

Westlake's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryan Turk, who went 9-for-19 en route to 21 points along with six boards and four steals. Evan Hargett was another key player, going 6-for-12 to rack up 15 points and seven rebounds.

Buckeye's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Westlake, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Buckeye does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westlake, they will take on Nordonia at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Nordonia will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Westlake surely won't give up without a fight.
