Frontier is 8-2 against Tri-County since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Falcons will welcome the Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Frontier has struggled recently with 31 defeats in a row, while Tri-County will arrive with 11 straight victories.
Frontier couldn't beat North White on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Falcons fell 11-6 to the Vikings.
Ashlyn Minniear made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Adrienne Everette, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Tri-County got the win against Northwestern on Saturday by a conclusive 13-6. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Madilyn Nevitt made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grace Tyler, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Kami Wilkerson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Tri-County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.
Tri-County pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average this season. As for Frontier, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Frontier hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Tri-County struggles in that department as they've averaged .393. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Frontier might still be hurting after the 13-0 defeat they got from Tri-County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Falcons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
