Baseball Recap: Scranton Prep Triumphs

Scranton Prep came out on top against Wallenpaupack Area on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Cavaliers walked away with a 7-3 win over the Buckhorns. The victory continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Buckhorns: they've now won four in a row.

Joe Connolly looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Scranton Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johnny Petrosky, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Scranton Prep's record is now 7-11. As for Wallenpaupack Area, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Scranton Prep will head out to take on Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cavaliers surely won't give up without a fight. Wallenpaupack Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
