Baseball Game Preview: Carlson Marauders vs. Roosevelt Bears

The Carlson Marauders will challenge the Roosevelt Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Carlson has three straight victories, Roosevelt has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Carlson had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Lincoln Park on Monday. The Marauders put the hurt on the Railsplitters with a sharp 12-5 win. The Marauders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Mason Szozda was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Cooper Farago, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Carlson hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt came up short against Woodhaven on Monday, falling 14-2.

Carlson's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.

Carlson got the 'W' in their previous matchup two weeks ago against Roosevelt by a conclusive 12-2 score. Do the Marauders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
