Smyer suffers fifth straight loss on the road

The Smyer Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. The contest between Smyer and Lockney wasn't particularly close, with Smyer falling 70-52. Smyer has not had much luck with Lockney recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

It was another big night for Dyllan Thiebaud, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 2 assists for Lockney. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thiebaud has scored all season. Nathan Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.

Smyer's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Lockney, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smyer will take on Hale Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hale Center's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven contests. As for Lockney, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Floydada at 7:30 p.m. Floydada presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lockney in Texas (Floydada is ranked 362nd, while Lockney is ranked 1267th).
