West Craven hadn't done well against Washington recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Eagles won by a set and slipped past the Pam Pack 3-2. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Pam Pack walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (103-96) West Craven actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-20, 15-25, 25-21, 15-12.

Carlee Stilley paced West Craven's offense, picking up 18 kills. Stilley got some help from Taylar Jarman and her 41 assists. Alyssa McCoy controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

Despite the defeat, Washington saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Naomi Huss had eight digs and two aces. Huss has been hot recently, having also posted 13 or more assists the last four times she's played.

West Craven's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Coincidentally, West Craven and Washington will both be playing North Johnston the next time they take the court. The Pam Pack will head out to face the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Eagles will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
