Volleyball Recap: Nicolet Comes Up Short

Nicolet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to Dominican. Nicolet was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Dominican earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-14.

Marissa Kranz paced Nicolet's offense, picking up three kills. Kranz got some help from Ashlyn Ganfield and her nine assists.

Dominican can attribute much of their success to Gabby Johnson, who had eight digs and four aces. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Nicolet's loss dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Dominican, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-8.

Nicolet has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Whitefish Bay on the 25th. As for Dominican, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Cambridge on the 23rd.
