Melbourne lost against Harmony back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 7-6. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Melbourne got a good showing from Logan Hart, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hart has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ty Aldeghi and Wyatt Votava stepped up to the plate in a big way. Aldeghi scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Votava scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Gabriel Gonzalez was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Melbourne's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Harmony, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-6.

Coming up, Melbourne will head out on the road to square off against Astronaut at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Harmony, they will challenge Melbourne Central Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Longhorns' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hustlers have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
