Brody Hawes made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Bennett's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Bennett got a massive performance out of Evan Dear, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave Dear a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Ortiz, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Bennett hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Platte Canyon struck out seven times.

Everything went Elizabeth's way against Bennett in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Elizabeth made off with a 14-4 victory.
