Recap: Southaven Chargers vs. Hernando Tigers

The Southaven Chargers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They put the hurt on Hernando with a sharp 83-58 victory. The win was some much needed relief for Southaven as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Southaven got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cael Jones out in front who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jhordan Shivers, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Southaven's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Hernando, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-14.

Southaven won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Horn Lake at 5:30 p.m. on January 27th. Horn Lake is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. As for Hernando, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against DeSoto Central at 7:30 p.m. DeSoto Central is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
