Football Recap: Claremont Piles Up the Points Against Kaiser

While Claremont didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-7), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They claimed a resounding 37-0 victory over the Kaiser Cats. The Wolfpack not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 13, 2024 (when they won 38-0).

Claremont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brandon Coronado led the charge by throwing for 314 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per attempt. Doug Yegge also helped with three TDs in total.

Claremont didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kingston Fajardo and Yegge. Fajardo got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win keeps Claremont at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 31.3 points this season. As for Kaiser, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Claremont will be playing in front of their home fans against La Salle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolfpack will be up against the Lancers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Kaiser, they are taking a road trip to take on Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
