Basketball Recap: Creekview Comes Up Short

Creekview was the 75-62 winner over Turner when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Creekview Mustangs might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 57-54 to the Turner Lions, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Turner to victory were Matthew Stone and Sahil Anand. Stone posted 19 points and four steals, while Anand put up 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Johnson, who earned eight points.

Creekview's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Turner, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Creekview and Turner could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Creekview (ranked 773rd) will meet Wakeland (ranked 204th) at 1:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Similarly, Turner (ranked 809th) will meet Highland Park (ranked 35th) at 1:00 p.m. on December 31st.
