Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kendall Piper and Quintin Lemmer Lead Clever to Victory

Clever lost to Springfield Catholic back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Blue Jays secured a 13-7 W over the Fighting Irish.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Quintin Lemmer and Kendall Piper. Lemmer rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown while Piper rushed for 22 yards and one TD.

Clever pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.3 points on average over those games. As for Springfield Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 7-2.

Clever does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Springfield Catholic, they will take on Willow Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Fighting Irish will be up against the Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
