Manzano hadn't done well against Valley recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Monarchs walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Vikings. That's more bragging rights for the Monarchs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Bryce Walter, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Braeden Lucero, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Manzano and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Valley, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-3-1.
