Football Game Preview: Coldwater Cavaliers vs. Covington Buccs

The Coldwater Cavaliers will square off against the Covington Buccs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Coldwater is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 44 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Marion Local on Friday. They and the Flyers were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 7-6 loss. The contest marked the Cavaliers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Covington's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 48-34 to Lehman Catholic. The Buccs were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Coldwater's record is now 6-4. As for Covington, their record now sits at 5-5.

Everything came up roses for Coldwater against Covington when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 58-0 win. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Buccs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
