Baseball Game Preview: Manistee Chippewas vs. Oakridge Eagles

The Manistee Chippewas are headed away from home for the first time to take on the Oakridge Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Manistee earned a 7-2 victory over Evart.

Manistee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Workman, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Josh Weiss also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Three must be Oakridge's lucky number: they beat Sault Area with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Blue Devils. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Manistee's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Oakridge, their record now sits at 5-3.

Manistee couldn't quite get it done against Oakridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can the Chippewas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
