Basketball Recap: Fernley Triumphs

If Douglas wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Fernley, they should've done a better job of containing Taylor Tollestrup. The Fernley Vaqueros walked away with a 44-36 victory over the Douglas Tigers on Friday thanks in part to Tollestrup, who posted 17 points in addition to eight boards and seven blocks. Tollestrup is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

Another player making a difference was Laura Rosales, who went 5 of 7 en route to 10 points and five rebounds. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

Fernley's record is now 5-1. As for Douglas, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Fernley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-61 win against Pyramid Lake on the 7th. As for Douglas, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-36 victory against North Tahoe on the 7th.
