Football Game Preview: Mira Loma Matadors vs. Foresthill Wildfires

Mira Loma has won three straight games at home, while Foresthill has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Matadors will welcome the Wildfires at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Thursday, Mira Loma humbled Encina with a 46-6 victory. The Matadors' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Deangelo Keys had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 102 yards and three TDs on only seven passes. Keys is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least three every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Foresthill got the win against Valley Christian on Friday by a conclusive 28-6.

Mira Loma better keep an eye on Vincent Navarro. He was instrumental in Foresthill's win, rushing for 178 yards and four scores while picking up 7.7 yards per carry.

Foresthill's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Abram Robenolt and Gabriel Navarro, who racked up all five sacks between them.

Foresthill's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Mira Loma, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 6-0.

Mira Loma came out on top in a nail-biter against Foresthill when the teams last played back in September of 2024, sneaking past 30-27. Will the Matadors repeat their success, or do the Wildfires have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
