Soccer Recap: Sotomayor Takes a Loss

Sotomayor lost against Marquez back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Sotomayor Wolves lost 7-1 to the Marquez Gladiators. While losing is never fun, Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1144th, while the Gladiators are ranked 403rd).

Sotomayor's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Marquez, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4-5 record this season.

Sotomayor will take on Maywood CES at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marquez, they will face off against Elizabeth at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
