Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Pine Grove's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Pine Grove got themselves on the board against Ashland on Tuesday, but Ashland never followed suit. They blew past the Blue Devils 12-0. Considering the Panthers have won seven games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Tatum Hatcher was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Rylie Jones also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Pine Grove is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. Ashland's loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pine Grove is set to square off against their familiar foe Myrtle at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ashland will face off against rival Falkner at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
