Softball Game Preview: Kingsburg Vikings vs. Hanford West Huskies

The Kingsburg Vikings will challenge the Hanford West Huskies at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Kingsburg blew Immanuel out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Immanuel got their revenge. The Vikings fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-2. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Kingsburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Averie Croissant, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Parker Woods also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Hanford West came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Lions.

Karmen Vazquez was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Janelle Ramirez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Hanford West lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April.

Hanford West pushed their record up to 17-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Kingsburg, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Kingsburg couldn't quite get it done against Hanford West in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 8-4. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
