Softball Recap: Hamilton Heights Comes Up Short

Hamilton Heights extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 10-8 in the process. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Logansport Berries. That's two games in a row now that the Huskies have lost by exactly four runs.

Hailey Hall was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

As for Logansport, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

On Logansport's side, Gracie Risley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Risley has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kellyn Cripe was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Rylinn Spradling was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

While Hamilton Heights had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
