The William Floyd Colonials won the last time they faced the Walt Whitman Wildcats, and things went their way on Saturday too. William Floyd took down Walt Whitman 21-6. Given William Floyd's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Walt Whitman is ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jason Pratt was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
William Floyd's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Walt Whitman, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. William Floyd will take on Commack at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Commack is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Walt Whitman, they will head out on the road to face off against Patchogue-Medford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Patchogue-Medford comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
