Volleyball Recap: Paul Laurence Dunbar Takes a Loss

Paul Laurence Dunbar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Lexington Catholic Knights. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Knights when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-18, 23-25, 25-23.

Mia Pendley paced Paul Laurence Dunbar's offense, picking up 25 kills. Pendley got some help from Ava Martha and her 37 assists. Zya Richardson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Finley Quinn went supernova For Lexington Catholic., getting 20 digs. Those 20 digs gave Quinn a new career-high.

Paul Laurence Dunbar's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 15-16. As for Lexington Catholic, their record now sits at 25-3.
